Booking and Policies

Rideau Valley Outdoors wants our clients to enjoy their hunt with us and we have a few basic safety rules and policies. When booking a hunt with us we do require payment in full and have policies in place for failed hunts or hunts cancelled due to dangerous weather or family emergencies etc.   Our hunt contract outlines the fees involved, our policies and contains a safety waiver.  Hunters will be e-mailed or mailed the contract for their particular hunt and will need to sign and return it with payment to book the hunt.  Please
contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

What to Bring

For your convenience, here is a quick checklist of the basics you should ensure to bring with you. Remember, the weather can change during your time in the field and nothing can ruin a hunt more than not being prepared to brave the elements. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you are unsure what you need to bring.

  • Firearms licence (PAL)
  • Hunting licences and Migratory Bird Permit if applicable
  • Photo ID such as driver's licence
  • Gun, gun case and shells or archery equipment
  • Appropriate clothing (dress for the weather including rain gear)
  • Rubber boots or hunting boots for field hunts
  • Hip or chest waders for water hunts
  • A change of clothes in case of a soaker
  • Cooler/Bags to keep your game cool and clean for the trip home
  • Camera
  • Any medications or personal effects (please advise us of special needs)

We have a few good hotels in the Smiths Falls and Perth area if you are traveling to join us.  There are also many good campgrounds in the area.  Here are a few suggestions if you are unsure of where to book your stay.
